Well, my baby boy turned 3 months old on May 14. I really can't believe how fast time has gone. I wanted to remember a few things about him at this age so here it goes:
He eats 5 ounces every 3 hours.
He is smiling and cooing and loves for his sister to talk to him.
He thinks peek-a-boo is funny.
He is a mommy's boy, especially when he is tired.
For the past few days, he has eaten at 6 pm, gone to sleep at 8 pm and got up to eat at 6 am!
He still has a lot of hair, but he does have a bald man ring around his head where he moves his head when he sleeps. And he wakes up in a puddle of dark brown hair in his bed, so I guess it's still falling out.
He still likes to be swaddled at night and sleeps with a paci.
He sleeps great in the car.
He can hold his head up (when he wants to) for a few minutes.
He is my easy-going, sweet-hearted, loving baby boy!

Jackson Reed Updegraff
Jackson Reed Updegraff was born on February 14 (yes, our Valentine!) at 8:55 pm at East Alabama Medical Center. His arrival was very unexpected as he was born at 34 weeks and 5 days. He was 6 lbs 15 oz and 21.5 inches long. I went to the doctor that afternoon because I just wasn't feeling very well, so this all happened very quickly.
After Jackson was born, he was transported via Angel Transport to the NICU at Baptist South in Montgomery. He was on a ventilator for a few hours and then changed to just oxygen for a couple of days. He did well with that, so he was put on forced air just a few days later. After 13 days in the NICU with some breathing issues, jaundice, feeding issues and growing issues, he came home on February 27.
He has now been home a little over a week and is doing very well. His sister loves him very much, but she gets a little bored with him sometimes - she keeps asking when he can crawl. :-) He is a wonderful and calm baby and sleeps for about 3 hours at a time, which is great for John and I!
We can't wait for everyone to meet him, but he is "confined" to our house for now until his little lungs are stronger and he can handle being around other people. We are just really trying to protect him from any flu/colds that could land him back in the hospital.
We are loving this special time as a family of 4!
